R&Cs: Liquide

It’s summer season! We’ll repeat it until we’re blue in the face — and that’s unlikely to happen with the current weather. And if the extended sunshine wasn’t a clue, the lighter music certainly is. Picking up where we left off earlier, we look to one of Belgium’s rising stars, Shay, to set us off right. “Liquide”, the latest single off her sophomore album, is dripping with whine-inducing rhythms, strong feels of female assertiveness and a hint of Africa — afterall she’s assisted by afro trap maestro Niska, a peer of Congolese descent. Lift off!
