The final season of HBO’s wildly successful series, Game of Thrones, is breaking all kinds of records and redefining fan engagement. A show of that magnitude would obviously spawn merchandise and other derivatives; the one that piqued my curiosity was the For The Throne album, essentially a collection of songs inspired by the series. The first single, “Power Is Power”, is performed by SZA, The Weeknd and Travis Scott as they respectively bring forth the perspectives of the Daenerys, Jon Snow and Knight King characters, has a rousing anthemic feel (as probably intended). We lead off with that and meander through the latest pop, rap, reggaeton and then some.
