R&Cs: Shaku Shaku

Back in early 2017, due to his AfroWave Mixtape that latched on to the infatuation in the UK for African pop, Afro B gave us the strongest indication that he’d be a sensation. Then, “Drogba (Joanna)” happened. So, it appears now that the sky is the limit for the young Londoner of Côte d’Ivoire origins . He has followed up his mega hit with “Shaku Shaku”, an ode-of-sorts to the frenetic dance step from Nigeria that took over the world. It might not galvanize as much but it’s still a well-executed bop. That much deserves the honor to lead this tailor-made-for-weekends playlist with ‘Teintée Africaine‘ allure. Enjoy!

Hewa Yasin
