R&Cs: Get the Strap

I would have loved to get another rap-only ‘Roll & Coasters‘ to start the week, but I can settle for this: a heavy serving of rap, a dash of electro house, a garnish of afrobeats, reggae spices and — for desert — some Congolese rumba. In here, seemingly odd pairings yield outstanding cuts: “Get the Strap” with 50 Cent, 6ix9ine, Casanova and Uncle Murda; “Whoodeeni” with De La Soul and 2 Chainz. Here, a songbird from Côte d’Ivoire interprets a sad love song in lingala (native language of Congo) to perfection. Dig in!

Hewa Yasin

I wrote as kid. (I'd die if you'd ever get your hands on those poems.) And I wrote as a teen. (We thought our raps would spearhead revolution.) I write these days to share my joys and perspectives.
