R&Cs: Stay Woke

On paper, Meek Mill and Miguel is a combination that obviously commands high expectations. And “Stay Woke” blew those away. Then there was the performance at the BET Awards…Man! It’s hard to top — and that’s definitely not my intent here — but I was still able to complement it with three of the faster chart-rising tracks in Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania. Not enough? I thought so too. Other highlights include Chaka Khan’s glorious return; a French rap favorite souped up with London and ATL flavor; and another croos-Atlantic collab we didn’t see coming. Enjoy

Hewa Yasin
