R&Cs: Girls Like You

Let’s praise the execution on this hit song, “Girls Like You”. Maroon 5 came through with a dope (and seriously endearing) ballad. Then, they tapped Cardi B — the woman with the juice right now — for a catchy verse on the remix. What followed was a star-studded video that is as simple as it is effective. Perfect marks all-round. Remember that we’ve had another pop star feature a cavalcade of diverse powerful women in his video recently. But the shtick can never go old. Women, such as the exemplary ladies in the “Girls Like You” video, do deserve the spotlight and accolades.

(Sidenote: I have to also let out that this is one of the best ‘Roll & Coasters‘ I’ve had the privilege to make.)

Hewa Yasin
