R&Cs: Say Bye Bye

Ycee and Eugy were a couple of the artists that impressed with their debut EPs last year. (As long promised, we’ll be getting into that in the next few days.) They’ve laid the groundwork for an explosive 2018 and I’m not mad at this first banger, “Say Bye Bye.”

I would also like to salute MC One — who’s joining efforts to raise awareness against child abduction in his native Côte d’Ivoire with his latest song named after yet another victim, Traoré Aboubakar Sidick — and Chidinma whose stirring “Gone Forever” (off the Wives on Strike 2 soundtrack decries spousal abuse. (We’ll be talking more about that too.)

Hewa Yasin
